Gordon
Twells
Producer
Gordon moved
to Los Angeles in the summer of 2002. Originally a native of Sonoma County,
Gordon left behind a career in Real Estate investment and development
to pursue visions of a better and more rewarding life in the green pastures
of Southern California.
Going straight into the workforce after high school, he amassed a small empire
of Real Estate while working as a Senior Technician for the Ford Motor Company.
Although his trade satiated the technical and organizational aspects of his personality,
he was driven to unrest during this time by his lifelong obsession for the arts.
Eventually, his love for the arts won out. He quit his trade, sold his properties
and returned to school to pursue his passion full time. A Liberal Arts major
in college, he was particularly fascinated by the Visual Medium and Music. His
curriculum during this time was dominated by the study of the great masters of
these two arenas.
Once finished with school, he embarked on a journey across the United States.
Outfitting a Volkswagen Vanagon Synchro for extreme travel, he criss-crossed
America for a year, adventuring into remote regions of the U.S. , discovering
the myriad of different lifestyles that Americans share.
Gordon eventually made his way to Los Angeles at the time when Dominic
and Matt were forming the initial seeds of “DUEL.” He immediately fell in
love with the story and began to work on bringing this project to a level of
quality rarely achieved in Short Film.
“Until now, I could see no practical use for my background in the things
I wanted to pursue with my life. Film is an interesting art in that it combines
all the aspects of the classical mediums, yet there is a tremendous technical/
organizational facet to pulling it off. Everything I had learned till now, and
more, came into play to make this film happen. It was one of the best experiences
of my life.”
Although uncredited, Gordon also played the difficult role of the dead body wrapped
in burlap at the end of the film. He is still waiting for his S.A.G. card. |
