Pauly
Hatch
"The
Barkeep"
Pauly
Hatch was born and raised in the small town of North Haven, Conn.
The eighth of nine children in an Irish Catholic family, he developed
an early interest in the performing arts, primarily acting and
singing.
Eager to escape the strict household of his youth, Pauly left high school 10
days after his 17th birthday and joined the U.S. Army. Stationed in Alaska
as a Medic, he thrived in the pristine Arctic wilderness. “It was easily
the best part of my military duty… and one of the best parts of my life.” But
in 1984 he was transferred to the 498th Air Ambulance company and sent to Central
America. The next year of his life was spent between Panama, El Salvador, Honduras,
and Nicaragua. As a medic, his duties included all aspects of support, U.S.
military, civilian medical assistance, and the retrieval of Contra rebel wounded
and killed in action. Seeing first hand the brutal realities of warfare caused
a major shift in his consciousness. When his tour was finished he returned
to a civilian life, eventually taking up woodworking and cabinet making as
a trade, attaining a level of skill and craftsmanship rarely seen in this day
and age.
He soon re-discovered his love for acting and began studying in earnest. He
took classes with Robert F. Lyons, and pursued the field with his same zest
for the unique and dedication to perfection. He has performed in numerous independent
films and theatre productions.
“Working on “DUEL” has been a real pleasure. The production
was professional, challenging, and extremely edifying. The quality
and levels of detail and care found in this movie are rarely seen in
today’s world. I learned a great deal and feel honored to have
been a part of it.”
